2018 Joslin’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) Belt Testing Day!

Last weekend was pretty amazing!

100+ team Joslin’s members came out for a great day of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu rolling, technique and belt testing as more then 20 of our students earned their next belt ranks in BJJ.

Testing Begins…

The action started at 8:30 with all of those testing for the blue belts up first. Technique after technique, the group looked very solid, showing a great understanding of the basics of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Each technique was scored by one of our Black Belt instructors.

At 9:30am, longer tests took place as blue belt and purple belts tested for their purple and brown belt ranks respectively. The athletes showed advanced takedowns, submissions, sweeps and many more transitions and movements.

The rest of the team arrive around 11am. Over 100 of our students were in attendance and ready to put those testing to work. After some technique practice, each athlete testing was placed someplace on the mat. Round after round they rolled (sparred) with a fresh partner, while being scored on their abilities on the mats. Some of the higher ranks stayed in for more than 30 minutes straight.

At the end of it all, all scores (technique and rolling portions) were calculated, and everyone successfully earned their next belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
